The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as Auto China) was founded in 1990 and has been held biennially in Beijing, China. To date, it has been hosted 16 editions with great success.
After more than 30 years of cultivation and development, Auto China has risen to the ranks of the world's top auto shows, recognized and esteemed by global auto-makers as a world-class event in auto industry. It has set multiple records among domestic auto shows in terms of exhibition scale, the variety and quantity of exhibited brands, number of visitors, and the presence number of journalists. It is renowned as “the largest auto show in China" and “the wind vane of the Chinese auto market."
The first edition of Beijing Auto Show started in 1990. In 1992, the Beijing Auto Show was officially renamed as the "Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China)"
In 2006, multinational automotive companies unveiled 10 world debuts. Gradually this show has earned international recognition and exhibits quality. Exhibitors, media, and various sectors of society widely regarded that the Auto China had reached the level of a top-tier international auto shows. Since then, Auto China has gradually entered the ranks of mature international automotive exhibitions.
From 2012 to 2018, Auto China expanded to 230,000 square meters, featuring all major global auto-makers and mainstream suppliers. As a top global auto show, Auto China showcased cutting-edge planning concepts, display technologies, and innovative products, allowing visitors to fully experience and understand the new era of auto life in the future.
Auto China 2020, held amidst the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, was the only international A-level auto show ever held in the world that year. It attracted widespread attention and garnered recognition from home and abroad. Its successful opening had the significance meaning in boosting the morale of the global auto industry and witnessed the important moment of people from global auto industry working together, gathering strength, overcoming difficulties, and revitalizing the industry.
Currently, all multinational auto companies position the Auto China as the most important A-level auto show globally, seen as the most crucial automotive exhibition outside of their home market. Auto China has evolved from a simple product showcase to a significant platform for both domestic and international auto-makers to display their image and brand, exchange information, seek collaborations, and implement global marketing strategies.
